Pre-Tattoo Checklist
What should I bring?
Please make sure you have a valid government-issued photo ID. We cannot tattoo you without this!
Feel free to bring headphones, a book, blanket, snacks etc- make yourself comfortable while your here! Distractions can really help you through the session and keep you cozy.
What should I wear?
Loose fitting shirts, shorts, tank tops, bathing suits, and flannels are all great options for various tattoo locations. Ask your artist what might be best to wear if you have any doubts!
It's also recommended that you wear dark colors or clothes you don't care about in the event some ink gets on them- it's permanent on clothes, too!
Eat before your tattoo appointment!
This is EXTREMELY important! Clients should eat at least one hour prior to their appointment. Eating and staying hydrated gives you fuel during your session and is crucial to make sure you don't feel dizzy or faint during/after. Our shop has drinks and snacks you're welcome to, but you can bring your own as well!
Guest Policy
You are allowed to bring one guest to your session. In respect to other artists and clients in the shop- we do need as little distraction as possible to make the experience great for everyone
While we're sure your child is lovely, no minors are allowed inside Stargaze Tattoo. No exceptions, per NH state law.
Please arrive on time
Please make sure you're communicating with your artist to ensure you're not late and risk losing your appointment time/deposit. A 48 hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Each artist controls their own schedule and appointment times, so if you have any questions feel free to reach out to them directly!
Hygiene
Please use deodorant and ensure that you are not using any strong-fragranced perfumes/colognes as a kindness to your artist and other clients!
Do NOT apply any type of numbing cream without first consulting your tattoo artist about it.
Tattoos are open wounds, so it's essential that you come in as clean as possible to avoid any potential for infection. Don't worry about shaving as there could be a risk for razor burn, please let your artist do it!
Please note: we cannot tattoo over any fresh scratches, sunburned skin, bruises, acne, or scars. If something happens to the area you're getting tattooed, reach out to your artist as soon as possible to reschedule.
Do NOT come intoxicated
Not only will we turn away anyone who is under the influence/intoxicated, as it is illegal, it can have negative effects on how your skin tattoos and heals. We advise no alcohol for at least 48hrs prior to your appointment for best results. And, you want to feel as rested as possible coming in for your session!!
Other important info:
If you are not feeling well prior to your appointment, PLEASE reach out to reschedule ASAP. We work very closely with our clients and want to keep everyone healthy- so if you have any symptoms we ask you to please stay home and rest up!
If you are on any antibiotics, blood thinners, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, we cannot tattoo you.
Please ask your doctor if you're on any medications that you may have concerns about prior to appointment.
Please make sure you are off any antibiotics for at least 10 days before getting tattooed. No exceptions. If you have an injury or are recovering from any kind of surgery (even if its not the same spot you're getting tattooed) please let us know so we can reschedule you once you're healed.
Keep in mind
While your tattoo is healing- you will not be able to work out for at least 72 hours to prevent infection
You cannot have any sun exposure on your tattoo, soak, or swim for at least 4 weeks. If you have an appointment scheduled please plan your activities accordingly. Failure to do so can result in damage to your new tattoo and your skin! Plan accordingly
